About Us

I'm Geraldine Black the founder of Cleanse & Scrub; a family-run online body care and wellbeing business, based in the London borough of Greenwich. 

My ethos is to make natural, vegan body care products by hand with an emphasis on using quality ingredients, eco-friendly packaging, handmade products and sustainability, Cleanse & Scrub reflects the epitome of quality over quantity. With an emphasis on encouraging self-care through the creation of functional gift boxes for all occasions using luxurious and honest ingredients to improve the wellbeing of others in small but important ways.

How I started

My company started as a business idea during lockdown when wellbeing was at the core of most people’s daily lives.

I brainstormed what problems do people have, that I can solve?  My niece was starting secondary school in 2020 and was bullied during primary school so I wanted to help prepare her for the next stage of life – secondary school; by ensuring she was up to speed with her personal care (blazer and jumper combinations can be quite warm) as that’s one definite way that bullies can be cruel to children. 

I created a prototype menstruation box for my niece and received feedback from her and her parents on how to improve it, I showed her how to apply a sanitary   pad to her underwear and offered practical skills and advice to boost self and body confidence. 

The prototype gift box took me back to my first experiences of puberty and  body changes;   I knew very little about what to expect during puberty and 

how to practically look after myself & my well-being during such a hormonal season.   

The prototype puberty gift bag is where Cleanse & Scrub started. 

I specialise in creating handmade pampering boxes for all miletsone occasions from the first period through to menopause. 

Where I am now

I am continuing to develop my range of puberty boxes and body care products using natural ingredients to promote mental wellness, self-care & relaxation; and champion the benefits in using essential oils through inhalation and cosmetic products to renew skin cells, aid problem skin and calm eczema.
